Dan’s thoughts: This year ECCC moved to the new Summit Center building, and the new convention center setup was great…for the most part. Having the artists all in one big room (as opposed to multiple rooms on the same floor as has been the case for the old location) was nice. The same could be said for the vendor hall which in the past was in multiple parts of the convention center main floor. The new location is a beautiful building with lots of floor space and areas for cosplayers to take photos in.
Of course, this is a comic con and as such I spent a lot of time (and a decent amount of money) in artist alley, and I hit up a few of the panels in the biggest panel room they had (which the past few years I didn’t go to since it was a few blocks away and I didn’t want to walk over there).
Overall I had a great time at the show (and the restaurants around the area, which is why I keep going back…)
I can’t wait to go back next year when ECCC returns on Feb 29, 2024 and goes until Mar 3, 2024.
Ali’s thoughts: This year’s ECCC was a blast and was one of the best ECCC’s I’ve ever been too. So many amazing vendors, artists, cosplayers, and just people at con this year that I got the chance to meet. Talking with all these people was so much fun, I feel like I always make the best friends at cons I go to. I was also able to pick up some really great stuff, like some Magic cards to make my friends cry when I beat them. Also, more One Piece figures to add to my ever growing collection, and some JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure art (now that it’s more mainstream). I could not have been happier with how great my cosplays worked out for ECCC23. Everything was comfortable to wear, and I looked amazing in all of them! I’m already working on ideas for next year’s ECCC to up my game a bit more too!
