Vault Comics, the Montana-based publisher helmed by brothers Damian and Adrian Wassel, has been gaining incredible traction in the industry in recent years, putting out strong, striking and compelling books by writers and artists with very distinctive styles and approaches. And, in just a few weeks, the company plans to showcase their current roster of books and talent at that there New York Comic Con, held at the Javits Center over the weekend of Thursday 3rd-Sunday 6th October.
And that’s not all. Vault will also be rewarding dedicated fans of disturbing and unsettling horror comic THE PLOT with a ‘hyper-limited’ spot-gloss convention variant of issue #1, available to only 100 copies at $100 a pop, making it a highly desirable collectable at the show.
THE PLOT is the first title to be released under Vault’s autumnal horror imprint, Nightfall – nicely in time for Halloween, which makes a lot of sense as the book is a seriously disturbed and deeply spooky title which harks to the vibes of classic Hammer films and visceral creature features. It’s rendered by Hixson in a dank and earthy manner which bleeds into the page; pair that with what Moreci has described as ‘the most emotional and personal book [he’s] ever written’, drawing from the likes of John Carpenter, Stephen King and Wes Craven, and it’s quite the read to inspire the hairs on the back of your neck.
THE PLOT‘s creative team of co-writers Tim Daniel and Michael Moreci, and artist Joshua Hixson will be on hand to scrawl all over and ultimately devalue the valuable book with their signatures, during their allotted times on the booth (#2223).
