BOOM! Studios – NEWS WEEK (January 7th, 2019)

In our latest recap of the news from BOOM! Studios for the past week comes some previews for cover art that will be gracing BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #4, as well as details on a new BOLIVAR title from Sean Rubin.

On Wednesday, a preview of the upcoming fourth issue of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER was released. The issue from writer Jordie Bellaire, artist Dan Mora, and with series creator and story consultant Joss Whedon will have a cover from Mondo illustrator Matthew Taylor. 

The issue which is set for release on April 3rd will feature cover art (which you can see below) showcasing Xander surrounded by vampires.

Not to be content with one variant cover for the fourth issue of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, BOOM! released a preview of a Kevin Wada variant for the issue.

If you thought every variant cover of the fourth issue of BTVS would feature Xander, you were mistaken. Also on Friday came a preview of a cover for the issue from FeiFei Ruan featuring a slayer from 8th century China.

As the week came to an end, BOOM! announced BOOM! Sean Rubin’s Bolivar would be getting a new graphic novel titled BOLIVAR EATS NEW YORK: A DISCOVERY ADVENTURE this November.

The graphic novel about a dinosaur named Bolivar and his neighbor Sybil is tells a story about Bolivar eating some of the many different cuisines that are in New York City, since he primarily eats corned beef sandwiches.

Debuting in 2017, Bolivar introduced readers to a dinosaur that lives in New York City—and his young neighbor Sybil who tries to tell everyone about him.
