Two of the things I love are animal causes, and comic book art/memorabilia. Thanks to Clan McDonald Comics and The Artist’s Choice/Spencer Beck, the two are coming together to support a great cause. Clan McDonald will be running an sale and auction with ALL proceeds going to support Linda Blair (yes, THAT Linda Blair) and her WorldHeart Foundation. The Foundation is an animal rescue organization whose mission is “to make sure that every animal we rescue is given a second chance at a happy life”, so it’s a great group with a great cause.
Thanks to The Artist’s Choice a LOT of comic book artists will be doing 11×17 (A3) full figure sketch with all proceeds benefiting Linda Blair’s WorldHeart Foundation. Some of the artists will include such notable names as Bill Sienkiewicz, Walt Simonson, John Romita Jr., Bob Layton, David Finch, and many more artists. The full list is below along with the type of art and the minimum bid for each piece. The winning bidder will get to choose who they’d like the artist to draw (only characters, no likeness please).

The auction will also have comic books including variant covers, incentives, artwork, prints, signed comics, and even a marker that the legendary John Romita Sr. used during his career (it will come with a CoA).
As part of the sale and auction they will be doing a private signing with Linda Blair. If you’d like to have her sign a photo that you provide it will cost $75 USD, unless it’s a nude photo in which case it will cost $200 for her to sign. Any other customer provided items (i.e. Funko POP! figures, DVD cases, etc) will cost $100 for her to sign. They will also be commissioning artist Esteban Salinas to do painted covers on a blank comic book cover. There will be 2 options for painted covers from Esteban, a head painted cover sketch which will cost $100 (or $200 which will include Linda Blair’s signature) or a edge to edge painted cover sketch for $250 (or $350 including Linda Blair’s signature). Below are examples of his work, the cover on the left is the $100 option and the right is the $250 option. If you’d like a certificate of authenticity that can be added for $5 per item, or $40 for the comic to be slabbed and graded by CBCS.
The auction will run until Saturday March 6th at 12pm Central (10am Pacific/1pm Eastern) on their Facebook page. All bids must be timestamped before that, and payments will be handled via Paypal invoice. More information is on the link above.
