Image Comics – NEWS WEEK (January 7th, 2019)

The news this week from Image Comics includes the announcement of the first five issues BURNOUTS will be released as a trade paperback as well as a sneak peak at the new series VINDICATION.

The “high school action dramedy” about teenagers who must save their town from aliens…but they can only see them when they are high.

BURNOUTS from Dennis Culver and Geoffo will see the first story arc released as a trade paperback on February 26th, but can be pre-ordered now, and from the quotes below it sounds like a fun title.

Coming this February from Top Cow and Image Comics is a new title that is very topical with everything going on in the country right now.

VINDICATION from writer MD Marie and artists Carlos Miko and Dema Jr. is comic that explores power in the criminal justice system.

From the press release “in turbulent times, when cops are often portrayed as enemies of the people, Detective Chip Christopher walks the blurred blue line between racism and due diligence in order to do his job. And right now, it’s his job to investigate Turn, a young black man with a sketchy past who was previously exonerated of a similar slaying.

Look for the first issue of the series on February 6th, just in time for Black History Month.

BURNOUTS TRADE PAPERBACK COLLECTION LANDS IN STORES THIS FEBRUARY

The topical new series will launch during Black History Month,
early sneak preview revealed

PORTLAND, Ore., 01/10/2019 — Writer MD Marie and artists Carlos Miko and Dema Jr. disrupt the status quo with an all-new comic book series exploring power in the criminal justice system in Vindication. The series will launch from Image/Top Cow this February, in time for Black History Month. 

In turbulent times, when cops are often portrayed as enemies of the people, Detective Chip Christopher walks the blurred blue line between racism and due diligence in order to do his job. And right now, it’s his job to investigate Turn, a young black man with a sketchy past who was previously exonerated of a similar slaying.
