Thanks to Suspicious Behavior Productions for the review copy!

Invasion From Planet Wrestletopia tells the tale of a planet of alien wrestlers who invade our planet because a loser pro wrestler used a pizza box as a championship belt and declared himself the Champion of the Galaxy during his trash talk speech.  I continue to write a variation of this introduction in each review because its sheer insanity  should give you a hint as to what you will get with this comic book.

Halfway through Issue 4 I found myself getting a bit frustrated as the characters continue to move closer to the big match.  Why can’t Rory and Manifest Destiny just wrestle already?  Then I realized that this is true to how real wrestling works … I mean how wrestling works in real life.  There is a lot of trash talking and drama building up the suspense before the wrestlers enter the ring. Besides, if the Intergalactic Championship happened in issue 3, where would the series go next?

In this issue, Rory is accidentally growing his team.  He continues to be a jerk who probably doesn’t deserve support, but that’s part of his charm.  While we didn’t get a wrestling match, this issue returned to form in humorous writing.  Much of this is included through the addition of two new wrestlers to team Rory.  The wrestling video game scene was my favorite part of the issue (though a response to Rory’s complaint about getting something in his mouth made me laugh out loud as well).

Once I realized that this book is about the journey instead of the match itself, i was able to relax and enjoy this issue.  There are curse words and the gang goes to a strip club, so parental discretion is advised.
