Marvel Comics announces MARVEL’S RED GOBLIN: RED DEATH #1 variant cover by rocker Chris Daughtry

One of the more notable pieces of news that was announced right after San Diego Comic-Con ended was that singer Chris Daughtry of rock band Daughtry will be handling the artwork for an upcoming issue from Marvel Comics.

MARVEL’S RED GOBLIN: RED DEATH #1 will featured a wraparound variant cover with art from rocker Chris Daughtry. And this is not his first time doing cover art for a comic, as he’s handled artwork for both DC Comic’s Batman #50 and Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood #1.

Look for the issue this October from writers Pat Gleason, Rob Fee, and Sean Ryan with art by Pete Woods.

CHRIS DAUGHTRY TO COVER MARVEL’S RED GOBLIN: RED DEATH #1 WITH EXCLUSIVE WRAPAROUND VARIANT COVER

(LOS ANGELES, CA) – JULY 23RD 2019 – As revealed exclusively with Comicbook.com earlier today, Chris Daughtry, lead singer of rock band Daughtry, is covering Marvel’s Red Goblin: Red Death #1. Chris is a lifelong comic book fan who taught himself how to draw and daydreamed that his work would some day been seen by the masses. His dreams became reality in 2016 when he was asked to draw a cover for DC Comic’s Batman #50 and further realized in 2017 on Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood #1. He always been a fan of Spiderman and looked up to creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko as huge inspirations.  In 2019, he returns to the drawing board with an exclusive wraparound Variant cover for Marvel’s Red Goblin: Red Death #1 due out this October.

“I grew up watching the Spiderman and Friends cartoons as a kid and was always drawn to the bright colors of the costumes of Spiderman and Green Goblin. It’s beyond a dream come true to be able to collaborate with Marvel and Ron Garney to draw these classic and iconic characters in all their technicolor glory.” Said Chris Daughtry.
