It feels like it’s been forever since the last episode of Ms. Marvel, but in reality it’s only been a week. Well worth the wait anyway! With lots of information we have all been waiting for, we finally know where this train has been trying to take Kamala (and show her what she needed to do).
This week on Ms. Marvel we get to time travel and find out what really happened to Aisha, Kamala’s great grandmother. A sweet heartfelt tale that we all knew would end in tragedy for the good and bad guys. We also get to see a new superhero perhaps? Or the making of a soon to be villain.
I really loved learning more of the history from 1942, since I’m not well versed in what happened in India back then. Also with learning more of Aisha and how her story ended, instead of it being never answered (though I do want to know why she was exiled from her world). I also really loved her quote she used to awaken the bangle, “What you seek, is seeking you”. I think this is going to be what follows Kamala around for the rest of her superhero days, for whenever she loses her way. Other than that, I still have a very big question that is still not being answered.
What is up with the veil? I get that it would destroy earth if it opened, but it’s surprising how it killed those from its own dimension so quickly (and in a cheesy Indiana Jones way).
Some of the sweeter moments were not all in the family history for Kamala, but also what she comes to find when coming back. Her mother and grandmother find her using her powers, and are just happy she is okay (and a little proud at her helping others). But it seems that all three of them have found happy grounds and have cleared up old misunderstandings, which hopefully means Kamala won’t be in as much trouble being a superhero once home. I of course need to mention how cool our favorite Red Dagger was, letting Kamala know if she ever needs him, he’s just a call away to help.
There are just three little hints leading to next week’s finale of this season of Ms. Marvel I would love to talk about a bit. We got a few more hints on what Kamala’s superhero outfit will consist of, which we already know what it’s supposed to look like (but I still can’t wait!). Then there’s the whole Kamran plot, which will be sad and could lead to him becoming a villain later on in the Ms. Marvel universe. Lastly, we need to deal with the police hunting down people with superpowers and using Tony Stark’s (or what look very close to his) drones to do it. I just want to know what their deal is and why the hell Fury or any other Avenger is not stepping in to stop this.
Well with one week left till the series finale, you can catch up now on all five episodes of Ms. Marvel before the last episode of season one streams on Disney+ next Wednesday!
