Today is the second day proper of San Diego Comic-Con’s ‘virtual convention’ – SDCC@HOME, running over the days of what would have been the physical convention (Thursday 23rd – Sunday 26th July; Preview Night, Wednesday 22nd July 2020) and three of the most popular panels were premiered today (all three in the top 10 list for popular panels).
Normally fans line up overnight, or longer, to see the cast of the various WALKING DEAD shows, but this year with everything going online they don’t need to do that. FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, THE WALKING DEAD and THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND all were moderated by Chris Hardwick in his usual role as moderator for all things ‘Dead.
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD
Some of the highlights from the Fear the Walking Dead session were the season 6 teaser trailer and announcement that the season will premiere on October 11th at 9pm (8pm for Central time zone in the USA). Lennie James announced that he will direct an episode this season as will Colman Domingo. Colman also broke the news that his Bottomless Brunch at Colman‘s will get an additional 6 episodes.
THE WALKING DEAD
The next panel that premiered was THE WALKING DEAD which included the news that finale for Season 10 titled “A Certain Doom” will debut October 4th at 9pm (8pm for Central time zone in the USA). They also showed an extended clip for the season finale.
Angela Kang (showrunner) made the announcement that after the season 10 finale there will be six extra episodes that will air sometime in early 2021. She also said that Season 11 won’t debut in it’s normal October timeslot because of all the shutdowns that happened due to COVID.
THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND
Last up was THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND panel which had the cast talking about the upcoming show which will premiere directly after The Walking Dead on October 4th at 10pm (9pm for Central time zone in the USA).
The showrunners also debuted a trailer for the season and made the announcement that after the show there will be an episode of Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick (and guests??) talking about both episodes.
All three of the panels can be streamed via Comic-Con’s YouTube channel, we’ve included all three of them below for convenience!
