Normally we think of self care as treating ourselves to that one thing we’ve had our eye on for a while or watching a few episodes of our favorite (or new) anime. Other than that, there really hasn’t been much anime based (mainstream) things or selfcare methods to use. At least till now… No matter what, bath bombs are for anyone and everyone (their also fun to watch disolve too!)
I myself am not a big bath person, I like to go in for what I need and jump out. No point in hanging out in the water, but now that’s all changed. I have been a huge fan of Lush for a long time now, loving their face wash and masks (it also helps that they’re a stand up company too). They are know for thor beautiful bath bombs, but I’ve never really been that interested. But, about a month ago they announced a collaboration with One Piece. Yes, you read that right. The One Piece. I don’t think I’ve ever tried to buy something so fast in my life, but alas, it wasn’t to be. Because you see it was only available in Australia, and there was not a way for us in the US to order online (and pay crazy shipping) to get our hands on it. But, during the first week of October, Lush made a surprise announcement saying that it was now going to be in the US, so we could order the whole collection for ourselves. If you don’t think I stopped everything I was doing (even at work), to treating myself to a nice birthday treat by buying one of everything, you are dead wrong.
Now, what’s the big deal about this collaboration? Well, we get DevilFruit themed bath bombs, a hat bubble bar and a wrap (to twist into a bag), that’s the StrawHat pirates flag. Four bath bombs are in the collection, of course we have our fearless leader Luffy, his Gum-Gum fruit, A(s)ce with his Flare-Flare fruit, Robin with her Flower-Flower fruit, and last but not least, Chopper with his Human-Human fruit. Then there is the bubble bar, which is in the style of Luffy’s straw hat, and the StrawHat pirate flag wrap. I just got my box the other day and am loving all of the scents each bath bomb has, and of course hanging up my wrap (it’s pretty big and I think they knew none of us would use it for a wrap). But, getting this box also presented me with a very great opportunity.
This now means I need to slow down a bit and relax in a nice long hot bath, with lots of bubbles. It also means I’m about to be broke from buying many more of these bombs, because I cannot get enough! I used a piece of the bubble bar (sorry Luffy’s hat!), and decided to try out Robin’s, Flower-Flower fruit first. Normally, I’m not at all a fan of floral scents, especially if they are on the strong side. But, I ended up being very pleasantly surprised with Robin. In all honesty, I felt like she had a tight grip on me like she did with Franky (sorry, I couldn’t stop myself from some One Piece humor!) and ended up enjoying the bath for over an hour. I was so relaxed, I think I fell asleep for a bit. When I woke up the water was still very pink/red, bubbles galore and feeling so soft and smooth. I’m already planning to use A(s)ce’s Flame-Flame fruit next, I just need to have nothing to do and the house to myself and I can enjoy him (and cry a bit too, cause there’s no way I’ll ever be over him).
So, if you’ve been meaning to carve out sometime for yourself to have a few hours of self care. Of course do all the anime related things you love and find comfort in! Watch anime, buy merch, read manga, but if you have the time. Take care of your body in another way, letting it relax in some hot water with your favorite smelling DevilFruit. Let everything slide off your shoulders and empty from your mind and just be surrounded by One Piece. I don’t think this collab could be anything anyone could regret.
If you love One Piece, or just really interested in these amazing bath products, here’s a link below so you can check out the collab yourself! Also, as far as I’ve heard some select stores have gotten the collection in-store already but the rest should be coming this November!
