Due out later this month is a the first issue of a new mini-series from Marvel titled UNITED STATES OF CAPTAIN AMERICA from writers Josh Trujillo and Christopher Cantwell with interior art from Dale Eaglesham and Jan Bazaldua. The series will see Cap and Sam Wilson head across the country to try to find who stole Cap’s shield. Along the way they meet ordinary people who have taken up the mantle of Captain America in order to defend their communities.

Our friends at Clan McDonald Comics have an exclusive cover from the legendary Joe Jusko for the first issue. And man, is the cover gorgeous as hell.

Their will be two different versions of the cover featuring Jusko’s artwork in homage to the classic Sal Buscema cover of CAPTAIN AMERICA #154. The trade version retails has a print run of 3000 with the virgin (no trade dress/words on the cover) having a print run of 1500.

The two different covers are available either individually ($10.95 for trade dress or $15.95 for virgin cover) or as a bundle for $24.95. Or if you’re like some collectors and would like both signed, that can be done as well. They are offering signings from both Jusko as well as interior artist Dale Eaglesham (for additional charges of course). They are also offering a deal for either (or both) issues to be signed and graded through CBCS should you be interested…or just graded, it’s up to you.

Full synopsis of the issue is below courtesy of Diamond Comics and Marvel.

The shield has been stolen! No one understands the value of the shield like those who’ve wielded it, so Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson set out on a road trip across America to chase down the thief.
But instead, they find the Captains, everyday people from all walks of life who’ve taken up the mantle of Captain America to defend their communities. And for some reason, the shield thief wants them all dead. Can Sam and Steve get to them first?
Christopher Cantwell and Dale Eaglesham lead a can’t-miss miniseries to celebrate Captain America’s 80th Anniversary, joined by a rotating series of creative teams to tell the stories of each new Captain-starting with Aaron Fischer, the Captain America of the railways, brought to life by Josh Trujillo and Jan Bazaldua!
