Mondo Tees have long been known for the production of high-quality prints and merch, based on various genre properties and classic movies – indeed, it’s those rather juicy designer posters they put together with world-class artists, for screenings of flicks at their local theatre, that got them started in the first place.
However, time marches ever on and brands evolve and adapt; Mondo is no different. And, to keep them in the profile beyond the custom artwork, they’ve made the bold decision to enter the vinyl figures market, a market already full of incredible manufacturers and hobbyists. If a company wants to bat around in this cage fight, they better have something astonishing up their sleeve.
San Diego Comic-Con fans will find out for themselves when they exhibit the new MONDOIDS range at next weeks event (Thursday 18th-Sunday 21st July 2019 (Preview Night, Wednesday 17th July), San Diego Convention Center) at their booth, located at #435 on the Exhibition Floor.
Mondo will be bringing a limited edition Exclusive – a variant Venom figure – of their brand new Mondoids vinyl range, which launched today and available at mondotees.com. This figure will be of a 500pc run and available only at their booth to first-come, first-served fans who swing by and pick one up. (The Mondo Booth is traditionally quite the draw, anyway, so fully expect these to fly off their shelves. From under their table. Hey, you know what I mean.)
The Mondoid Series 1 range is a cracking series of figures, based on some well-known pop culture brands covering films, games and comics, from Marvel Studios to JURASSIC PARK, from GREMLINS to FRIDAY THE 13th, from FALLOUT to… well, actually that’s about it. But expect more to come barrelling down the pipe if these take off, which we’re certain they will.
