As well as coming out of the gate with news of a radical change of locale for 2019, the organisers of the Thought Bubble Sequential Art Festival (Harrogate Convention Centre, 4th-10th November) have also released details of how to buy tickets for this years show, along with the first batch of superstar names that have been invited as Special Guests.
Award-winning cartoonist and illustrator Jillian Tamaki (BOUNDLESS / THIS ONE SUMMER) is one of the current headliners for this years event, coming all the way from Canada on a rare visit to our shores; 2000AD / THE BATMAN WHO LAUGHS artist Jock is also making a welcome return appearance after a years absence (fans will be hoping that this may also indicate a return for Mondo Posters, also – fingers crossed).
They will be joining an incredible array of international talent from the likes of Australian-based Chinese/Indonesian illustrator Choo, making the trip; DC SUPER HERO GIRLS artist Pernille Ørum will be in attendance, along with artist Kyle T. Webster coming from North Carolina; and Los Angeles-based animation director Megan Nicole Dong is also heading to Harrogate this November. We desperately hope they all have some cardies in their wardrobe to bring with them!
And we haven’t even touched on the more homegrown talent that will be heading to the Harrogate Convention Centre: THE WALKING DEAD artist (and our current esteemed Comics Laureate) Charlie Adlard, LUCIFER artist Lee Garbett, 2000AD creative legends John Wagner and Mick McMahon, and THE WICKED + THE DIVINE superstar art combo Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson, along with WICDIV scribe / TBubs loyal advocate / McKelvie DJ partner Kieron Gillen,will all be hitting the Megabuses, heading oop North.

It’s one hell of a line-up: tickets are now on sale, with the first 500 sold also automatically getting passes for the legendary Mid-Con Party which, this year, will be held in the facilities of the Harrogate Convention Centre themselves – all the goodies being kept under one roof this year. They’re shifting fast – it’s anticipated that these special weekend passes will sell by the weekend – so move yer arse.
