I have been very lucky to have been involved in the Tripwire Magazine Awards – organised by EIC Joel Meadows – for the past few years now, even helping host the online ceremony last year. It’s a genuine honour and privilege… and it’s great to see that the Awards are back up and running for 2021.
Some of the brightest and best talents in comics are being recognised in this year’s categories (including the category for Best New Talent, which is proudly sponsored by The Convention Collective – you’re bloody welcome) and the best thing about the Awards are, they can be voted on by any comics fan who joins our passion for this art form and the amazing people behind it.
Voting is now open and anyone can get involved – you just need to head to the Voting Form, HERE, choose your preferred nominees and that’s that. The results will be collated and revealed in a special ceremony later on in the summer when shiny baubles will be handed out to shiny, happy people. THE TRIPWIRE AWARDS 2021
Welcome to the voting form for the third Annual Tripwire Awards. For over twenty-five years, Tripwire has been championing US and UK comics first in print and, since 2015, on the web – we are proud to announce that Tripwire will again be hosting THE TRIPWIRE AWARDS.
2021 will be the third year of this awards ceremony which aims to celebrate the cream of UK and US comic talent. In previous years, we have tried to reflect the very best of this year’s comics and the talent who make them possible – the events of the last twelve months have demonstrated that comics and comic art remain incredibly important and vital to the fabric and well-being of pop culture and to culture as a whole. With these awards, we strive to showcase those that have literally saved us this past year.
Of the Awards, Tripwire editor-in-chief Joel Meadows says, “Tripwire has been promoting comics for almost thirty years now and, in 2018, we felt it was time for us to launch our own awards which would take our support to another level. We feel we are building on the success of the previous two years ceremonies, as well as reflecting the changing landscape of comics with some new exciting categories.”

Nominations for the eighteen categories are open for people to vote on from 8pm 1st May 2021 through until Midnight 1st August 2021, and the results of the awards will be announced at a special ceremony online later in the year (date and details to be confirmed).
