In our recap of the news from this past week out of San Diego’s own IDW Publishing comes news about a series set in the world of Netflix’s NARCOS show, and a Halloween coloring book from Alan Robert.
Coming this April will be NARCOS based on the Netflix show of the same name. The four issue mini-series from the team of writer Ryan Ferrier and artist Vic Malhotra is set in the first season of the Netflix show, but introduces new characters on both sides of the drug war.
Also announced this week was a Halloween coloring book from Alan Robert titled THE BEAUTY OF HORROR: TRICKS AND TREATS.
The 64-page, black-and-white softcover release has one-sided, perforated pages that measure 7″ x 7″ and will retail for $12.99 USD.

Gaumont’s Narcos Explodes as Upcoming IDW Comic Book
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 12, 2019) – Beginning in April, IDW Publishing will launch an all-new front in the War on Drugs with the official Narcos comic book series, an original story set within the continuity of the first season of the drama series, a Netflix Original produced by Gaumont.
Written by Ryan Ferrier (G.I. Joe: Silent Option) with art by Vic Malhotra (The X-Files), the four-issue Narcos miniseries introduces new dangers for DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña to face, while at the same time, El Patrón must contend with a dangerous threat to his drug empire.

Creator Bio:
Alan Robert is the creator of several critically-acclaimed graphic novels: Wire Hangers, Crawl to Me (in development to become a motion picture), Killogy, The Shunned One, and The Beauty of Horror, a bestselling series of horror-themed adult coloring books. Robert is also well known as the bassist/songwriter for the hard rock group Life of Agony for over two decades. A Brooklyn native, Alan’s journey as a comic book creator began at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he attended on a scholarship and studied cartooning under legendary Thor comic writer/artist Walt Simonson.
