ECHOES FROM THE GALAXY: Julien’s Star Wars Memorabilia Exhibit opens today at Comic-Con Museum, ahead of auction

Here’s hoping that it’s not the infamous ‘bonk!’ bucket head from A NEW HOPE because that would been it’s ‘b-grade / scuffed’ but a screen-worn Stormtrooper helmet, used in the filming of the original 1977 STAR WARS, is now currently on display – along with other incredible props and memorabilia from the franchise – at the Comic-Con Museum at Balboa Park (2131 Pan American Plaza, San Diego, CA 92101), courtesy of Julien’s Auctions and TCM.

The helmet, the lightsabres used by Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn) and Ray Park (Darth Maul) in THE PHANTOM MENACE, and Mark Hamill‘s production-made saber from RETURN OF THE JEDI joins an impressive array of pieces from the famed collections of Steve Sansweet, Gus Lopez, Duncan Jenkins and more.

The exhibition runs until the last day of San Diego Comic-Con, Sunday 27th July, when the pieces will be auctioned to the highest bidder, both in room and online which means, forget that poxy flyweight lightsaber you paid good money for in Savi’s Workshop at Galaxy’s Edge, you could be wrapping your hands around the very shaft lovingly manhandled by Ewen McGregor himself! Feel the Force, indeed.
