SDCC 2026: A Quick Interlude With 2026 Eisner Recipient Matt Fraction

While he was getting ready to moderate the Spotlight on Kelly Sue DeConnick panel, I had a quick chat with Matt Fraction (who had won an Eisner along with Steve Lieber the day before in the BEST GRAPHIC ALBUM—REPRINT category for Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen: The Deluxe Edition).

After congratulating him on his win, he thanked me and discussed the event.

“At my acceptance I read 136 names on the cover,” he smiled. “I regretted it the moment I started,” he joked.

“In the next edition of Jimmy Olsen, I want to put a $20.00 bill in there. We wanted to put a $100.00 bill in one of the Sex Criminals books but was told it would be like a sweepstakes and were struck down.”
