Dragon Con 2026 went by in a blur of amazing cosplays, fantastic panels and parties, and unforgettable connections with both fans and guests alike. The love that attendees (including myself) bring into making Dragon Con special is more evident every year, with a culture of giving around trinkets, ribbons, stickers, and more on top of the grand feeling of inclusion and positivity in every corner of the con.
I have a relatively unique perk of getting to talk to some of our amazing guests for interviews, which composes the cornerstone of my Dragon Con experience every year. One of the through lines with many of my interviews is that Dragon Con is the BEST con, and at the very least I hear the sentiment that there’s something special about this 5-day-weekend we get to spend together every year. This year, I had a blistering FIVE interviews scheduled (and one more impromptu) with some familiar and some new faces (to me anyway), including James RPG Familiar, Eloy Lasanta, Catieosaurus, Omega Jones, B Dave Walters, and The Hivemind (Jackson Lanzing and Colin Kelly).
If you’ll allow me a moment to brag, I also qualified as a finalist in the Master Game Master competition, pitting dungeon masters against each other in tests of creativity, roleplaying, and on-the-fly monster and magic item creation. This was THE highlight of my entire Dragon Con, getting up on stage to perform Dungeon Master challenges for an audience of about 300-400, and I feel so proud to have come in 3rd out of 40+ other dungeon masters, only behind a couple of other truly great dungeon masters.
Dragon Con remains my favorite pop culture convention for the intimate atmosphere, microcosms of incredibly diverse communities, stunning and often hilarious cosplays, and overall sense of love and positivity. See you next year!
