LOS ANGELES — AUGUST 7, 2026 — Los Angeles Comic Con, L.A.’s largest event for comics, gaming, sci-fi, anime and pop culture, announces the return of the fan-favorite Akiba Station in partnership with Otaku Collectives, bringing an even bigger and more immersive celebration of anime and Japanese pop culture at this year’s event taking place on October 30 through November 1, 2026, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Following the success of its debut year, Akiba Station will return with an expanded experience that brings anime fandom to life, featuring larger-scale themed environments, interactive activations, exclusive merchandise, and an even stronger lineup of anime brands, creators, and special guests.

“From the beginning, our vision for Akiba Station has been to create a space that feels authentic to the anime community and gives fans a dedicated place to celebrate the culture they love,” said Chris DeMoulin, CEO/GM of Los Angeles Comic Con parent Comikaze Entertainment, Inc. “With Otaku Collectives, we wanted to create an experience where fans walk in and feel like they’ve found their place, surrounded by the stories, worlds, and creators that brought them to anime in the first place.”

This year, Akiba Station continues to grow as a premier anime destination in Southern California, expanding its footprint with new Japanese-inspired scenic elements designed to give fans a deeper connection to the culture behind anime. From custom cherry blossom installations to curated displays and authentically themed environments, every corner invites fans to capture, explore, and experience the heart of Japanese pop culture. Returning partners are increasing their presence at Akiba Station, showcasing larger activations and more ways for fans to engage throughout the space. Additional talent, artists, and voice actors will be announced over the coming weeks.

“Last year’s response showed us that fans weren’t just looking for more anime content, they were looking for an experience that felt like it belonged to them,” said Johnny Chang, Founder and CEO of Otaku Collectives. “Akiba Station was created by anime fans, for anime fans, so we wanted to create the kind of space we would have wanted to walk into ourselves. This isn’t about simply repeating what worked last year, it’s about building on that momentum and creating something bigger for every type of anime fan, whether you’re a longtime fan, collector, or cosplayer, or someone discovering the culture for the first time. Akiba Station is more than a space on the show floor, and is here to grow alongside the anime community and become a signature destination at L.A. Comic Con for years to come.”
