NYCC 2019: BOOM! Studios reveal panel and signing info

Even though we are over a month from New York Comic Con, today BOOM! Studios revealed some of their panels for the show.

New York Comic Con takes place from October 3rd-6th at it’s usual home in the Javits Center, and this year BOOM! (Booth 1828) will be bringing quite a bit of talent for signings.

Bryan Edward Hill, Daniele Di NicuoloDavid Jesus Vignolli, Delilah S. DawsonGaby DunnJames Tynion IVLev Grossman (who our own Sam spoke to during SDCC), R.L. StineRyan ParrottSimon SpurrierSimone di MeoSina GracePatrick McHaleKaran Ashley, and Steve Cardenas are all scheduled to be at the BOOM! booth during the convention. Details on their signing schedules will come later.

In addition there will be three different panels hosted by BOOM! at the convention:

ENTERTAINMENT IS LGBTQ from 3:00-4:00 PM in Room 1A21 will be co-hosted by GLAAD and feature talent from BOOM! along with GLAAD’s Megan Townsend the Director of Entertainment Research & Analysis.

BOOM! STUDIOS: DISCOVER YOURS from 4:15-5:15 PM in Room 1A24 will have Lev Grossman, Bryan Edward Hill, Gaby Dunn , Simon Spurrier, James Tynion IV, Royal Dunlap as well as BOOM!’s Editor in Chief Matt Gagnon on the panel. It will be moderated by BOOM! Studios’ President, Publishing & Marketing Filip Sablik.

The last panel from BOOM! at NYCC will be POWER RANGERS: NECESSARY EVIL which will be from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM in Room 1A24. The panelists will be writers Ryan Parrott, Sina Grace, and Daniele Di Nicuolo along with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers actors Karan Ashley, and Steve Cardenas and BOOM! Studios’ Senior Editor Dafna Pleban as they talk about Power Rangers in comics.

Discover Your Favorite Comics Creators at BOOM! Studios Booth #1828 From October 3-6, 2019 in New York

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 21, 2019) – BOOM! Studios announced today their presence at New York Comic Con 2019 (Booth #1828) from October 3-6 at the Javits Center in New York, NY. The publisher, home to award-winning imprints BOOM! Studios, BOOM! Box, KaBOOM!, and Archaia, will host several special guests on panels and at signings throughout the weekend. Full details below.

Throughout the weekend, attendees will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with the writers behind some of the most anticipated graphic fiction of 2019 during signing events including: Bryan Edward Hill (Joss Whedon’s Angel), Daniele Di Nicuolo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), David Jesus Vignolli (New World),Delilah S. Stine (Just Beyond: The Scare School), Ryan Parrott (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers), Simon Spurrier (Coda), Simone di Meo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Sina Grace(Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers, Ghosted in LA), Patrick McHale (BAGS: or a Story Thereof, Over the Garden Wall), Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and Steve Cardenas (Rocky DeSantos on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers).

Fans can also see their favorite creators and hear them speak at select panels during New York Comic Con weekend. On Thursday, 10/3, BOOM! Studios presents ENTERTAINMENT IS LGBTQ, in partnership with GLAAD, for an in-depth conversation on LGBTQ respresentation in pop culture, BOOM! STUDIOS: DISCOVER YOURS on Friday, 10/4, where an all-star group of comic book creators discuss what’s new or exciting in the world of comics and reveal details about current and upcoming projects. At the POWER RANGERS: NECESSARY EVIL panel on Saturday, 10/5, learn the behind-the-scenes details of the biggest Power Rangers event yet from the creators, and get the chance to ask your most urgent questions about the teens with attitude.

Studios and GLAAD present an in-depth roundtable discussion about LGBTQ representation in pop culture and the path forward to a brighter, more inclusive future, with special guests from all corners of the entertainment world including Gaby Dunn (Bad With Money, Bury The Lede), Sina Grace (Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers, Ghosted in LA), Royal Dunlap (b.b. free), James Tynion IV(Detective Comics, The Woods), Vita Ayala (Livewire), Megan Townsend (Director of Entertainment Research & Analysis, GLAAD) and more. 


Friday, October 4th

BOOM! STUDIOS: DISCOVER YOURS

It’s time to discover your new comic book obsession at NYCC – and we guarantee you’re going to find it at this panel!
