Thanks to Tiny Onion for the review copy!

In May of 2025, I was fortunate to review Exquisite Corpses #1.  At the time, I had no idea the ride that I was in for.  And it wasn’t just the 13 issues of amazing storytelling with thrilling twists and turns and tremendous art seamlessly assembled by a team of creators led by James Tynion IV and Michael Walsh.  It was collecting cards from polybags and backing the Kickstarter.  It was tracking down amazing exclusive covers from various retailers and cover artists and getting them signed. It was traveling to tour stops and con appearances in several states and when I couldn’t make it…it was finding someone in that city or sometimes country who could. After all, I needed to collect all those event cards! I became a moderator for the Facebook group and met so many amazing people along the way! Well, issue 13 came and went and before the withdrawal is fully able to kick in…we have more Exquisite Corpses!

During the course of Season 1, many of us readers had our favorite killers that we were hoping would be the last one standing. Rascal Randy, a killer inside a bunny mascot costume, quickly became a fan favorite and it’s fitting that he gets his own miniseries, his origin story, starting with Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #1, which comes out July 8th. This issue does not disappoint and continues to build the world of Exquisite Corpses. We get treated to one of Randy’s early murders and we start to see where the most radical rabbit in all of Rascalville came from; now a forgotten animated character from an earlier time. Also, look out for some cameos from season 1! Rascal Randy is written by Tyler Boss who wrote Exquisite Corpses issues 6 and 9. The artist is Dylan Burnett (Arcade Kings, Interceptor) who also did a variant cover for issue #4 of the main series. Jordie Bellaire is the colorist. The A cover is by interior artist, Dylan Burnett. There are variants by Tyler Boss and series co-creator, Michael Walsh. Retail incentives include covers by Javier Pulido and Riley Rossmo and a coveted 1:100 by Brett Bean.

My rating of the issue is 8/10.

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #1 is set for release on July 8th
