Well, would you look at that folks. What a journey this season was! We went from a strange and plot hole filled first episode to a full breakdown knockout of the fourth wall by the ninth.
For the season finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, we get our climax we’ve been building too all season… with some twists, and some are pretty big. The biggest include that wall Jen’s been knocking on since episode one, and it wouldn’t be Marvel without a few key plot holes (hard eyeroll here).
Okay, wow, so I definitely believe the MCU needs an better/new version (and you know less Nazi filled) Shield type agency again. Because some people needed to be checked, and right now all the Avengers (even the Avongers would be good right now) are off doing their own depression thing and not watching the news or checking their phones. If I was an Avenger right now, I would be like yeah so this is above my paygrade (or just too minor and stupid for me to handle. I mean this annoying little cyber guy group after Jen? Stupid and too close to reality right now, if I was her I’d Hulk-smash them the Loki way).
Anyway, Kevin Feige and the powers that be at Marvel and Disney really had fun with this episode and made fun of their own flaws (which is great, but we’re gonna need more of this in the future and of you guys fixing it). In true Marvel fashion, everythings gotta go to rock bottom for our hero before they can start that climb all over again. In Jen’s case, oh boy does she have a mountain in front of her to climb, I’m already tired just thinking about it (but with a little Daredevil to motivate her, I think she’ll be fine).
Jen did fight to have her season finale tie up all nicely (still plot holes, but you’re not falling into them every moment), she even got her guy for a bit longer too. But, we really do need to talk about this bizarre, chaotic and mind blowing ending. This was pretty much the best episode of She-Hulk from the whole season, mainly due to the fact that Jen has been hinting at it for the past eight episodes. Every time she broke a bit of that fourth wall in talking with us, she was letting us know she was not stopping there. Completely and utterly breaking the Marvel/Disney format for the MCU superhero cocktail, she fought with K.E.V.I.N. to change her ending and give us a less complicated one (and more Daredevil, bless her). This was a blast to watch and She-Hulk ended up being better than I ever thought it would be. I am really looking forward to seeing more of Jen and She-Hulk in the future (a movie of her own maybe?)
