The Start of the 2026 Anime Season

Walking into 2026, we got some amazing new anime to watch this season! Some follow up seasons and long awaited new series. I know I have been waiting years for some of these series follow ups and new series to finally be released. Going from an anime slump, with only a few to watch at the end of 2025…I’m jumping straight into the deep end with all of these new and continuing anime’s this season.

The new anime I’m so excited to watch this season are Hana-Kimi (I have waited 10-15 years for this to be made into an anime), Tamon’s B-side (I just started this and am loving it. I’m going to need to pick up the manga for it soon!), Dark Moon: The Blood Alter, A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation, The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter, and Sentenced to be a Hero.

Of these new series I would have to say I have been the most excited for Hana-Kimi, I have been a HUGE fan of the manga series since I first read it back (I think in middle school) a long time ago. All I want to do is sit down and dig into watching this beloved series of mine, but I have been holding back till I can grab the manga out of my storage, because I know as soon as I start watching it I will be itching to reread the series again. Tamon’s B-side is another I was slightly interested in. Since starting it the other night and giggling and cheering along with the main characters, it’s shot up to the top of my watch list.

For the series finally coming back with another season, it’s Hell’s Paradise and Jujutsu Kaisen. I’m a huge fan of Hell’s Paradise manga and loved the first season, so I’m really looking forward to watching more now that new episodes have come out .I will say again, it is a beautiful manga and has such amazing visuals that I’m super excited to see animated for this series (I just know people are going to be loving it). As for JJK, I have mixed feelings since the manga ended and have been dreading watching more of the anime…although, having gone to see the “movie”, which was just a 40 minute recap and maybe the first 2-3 episodes of season three (now streaming)…it did remind me of what I liked about this series, so I’m looking forward to the culling games being animated (just not looking forward to the ending). The animation for the series is also a lot more artistic than in previous seasons and brings a fresh new look to the series and how the characters are perceived (since this is a dark arc for all of them).

With so much to watch now, I’m speeding up my watch of a few anime episodes I have left from previous seasons. I just finished My Hero Academia and have two episodes left of Tougen Anki, then I’ll let myself indulge in all this new anime we have.
