SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THIS EPISODE!
If the synopsis isn’t enough to entice you to watch this episode, you may just not be a fan of zany Vampire TV shows. In what is arguably the best episode of the season so far, Nandor and Colin have to join forces to rescue Lazslo from a neighborhood animal control center. The idea of a vampire being taken in by animal control is so on brand for this show, and seeing how the writers chose to explore that theme was truly hilarious.
In the meantime, Nadja is off having some of her best moments with Gregor/Jeff, her long lost mortal lover with a penchant for accidental beheadings. She forces him to recall his past lives, one of which is a horse. These recollections lead to him exhibiting some questionable behaviors, but it was interesting to see another aspect of these vampire’s abilities. Ultimately Nadja was called back to rescue Lazslo, proving that she may be the only somewhat competent one in the group.
I would be remiss to exclude Nandor and Colin from my highlights. Seeing the two of them attempt to work together was one of the best parts of the episodes. The two have such a compelling dynamic, and now that Colin has demonstrated his preternatural abilities I am far more interested in learning more about his affect on blood suckers.
Once again, The Baron’s quest is on the back burner in this episode. He will be back again next week though, and I am looking forward to his response to the modern world.
