Next weekend in Anaheim at the Anaheim Convention Center will be taken over once again by DesignerCon. This show has always been one of my favorites of the year, and judging from what they have planned for 2022 that won’t change.
Some of the things that I am look forward to at the show include:
MEDICOM TOY (Booth 405) will once again return to DesignerCon (for the only US show) and as always they are bringing some great releases including figures from such noteworthy creators including
Doktor A, The OBANOTH (Hannah Webb), SHAG, Nina Palomba, and Bobby Hundreds Greg Mike’s, as well as the legendary Shepard Fairey who will be releasing his first figures from MEDICOM TOY.
The main stage will have programming from Sony Pictures Animation to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
The branded stage will include programming schedule including a Storyboard Duel, Sony Animation: Picture This! Pictionary With the Pros, and 1:1 With Sony Pictures Animation President Kristine Belson, all of which sound like they are must sees!
DKE Toys (Booth 2727) are always a booth that I spend more money at then I intended to thanks to their low run designer toys. You can see some of what they will be bringing to the show on their Instagram, and if you’re like me, you’ll be picking up a few of the pieces they will be selling there.
Kidrobot (Booth 2005) often have a selection of pop culture items as well as their Dunny and Labbit lines, while I haven’t seen a list yet of what they will be bringing, I will be checking out their booth at the show.
100% Soft (Booth 1231) have been a favorite stop of mine at most shows that they are at thanks to their Dumpster Fire line of vinyl collectibles. I can’t wait to see what they are bringing to the best con for designer toys in North America.
Mondo (Booth 200) now fall under the umbrella of Funko’s line of companies, they often bring awesome movie posters, figures, and more.
I’m sure there are more booths that I will be spending time (and money!!) at that I’m forgetting on this list. But I look forward to the 3 day event from November 18-20th that has been described as artist alley on steroids. Tickets are still available if you want to check out the show.
