Saturday is over, and with it day 3 of Emerald City Comic Con. Dan & Sam kept the interviews going on Saturday, and still have a few planned for Sunday as well. The convention was certainly more crowded on day 3. Because a lot of the navigation in the convention center relies on escalators, there were lines forming just to get on and off the escalators by the entrances. It was a lot to handle (for Sam), and felt a bit claustrophobic. In general though, the convention has been well organized and the attendees seem to be in good spirits! There was a theft in artist alley on Thursday night, and we’re all hoping the guilty part is held accountable for the goods that were taken.
On a more positive note, Sam’s interviews on Day 3 included Parker Peevyhouse (The Echo Room), Christopher Sebela (Crowded), and Seanan McGuire (Spider Gwen). Seanan has written many of Sam’s favorite prose novels, and she also loves her ongoing work on Spider Gwen. At the end of the day, Sam attended a panel with Seanan about her new work on Age Of X-Man: The Amazing Nightcrawler. Sam has never been so excited about an X-Men story and can’t wait to read this one very soon.
While Sam had a low-key day, Dan was running around for over 20000 steps and 6 interviews. We think the press room attendant was getting tired of Dan after having seem him come and go so many times. In between the interviews he also managed to snap a few photos of some of the cosplayers in attendance.
Dan conducted interviews with Justin Gary (Game Designer and Architect of Bakugan), as well as Michael Moreci, Vita Ayala, Simeon Mills, and Jonathan Maberry. But that’s not all as he also spoke to Damian Wassel (Vault Comics Publisher) and Adrian Wassel (Vault Comics Editor-in-Chief).
How did he manage all those interviews? Well having Leonard help with questions for some of them was one of the ways.
To wrap up Sunday, Dan will be speaking with artist Camilla d’ Errico again and trying to see some of the spots on the convention floor he didn’t get to see this weekend.
