With Emerald City Comic Con just about a week away, it’s time to talk about some the things we are looking forward to at the show.
The show once again takes place at the Washington State Convention Center with the dates for this year being March 14th through Sunday the 17th, and as usual for ECCC there are a lot of good panels on both the Hollywood side and the comic industry side.
Some of panels on the Hollywood side of the card that Dan is looking forward to include the spotlights on Rainn Wilson, Gwendoline Christie, George Takei, Peter Capaldi, Jason Isaacs, as well as the Twisted Toonz event, and the Star Wars Rebels presentation.
On the comic book side of the card the ones that caught Dan’s eye include the following panels: Kelly Sue DeConnick on DC’s Aquaman, AHOY Again: The Second Wave, Mags Visaggio & Corin Howell discuss Calamity Kate, Marvel Anti-Heroes Roundtable with Matt Rosenberg, Donny Cates, Kyle Higgins, as well as the DC Celebrates Batman 80th, and the Marvel Comics: Make Mine Marvel panel.
This year we will have 2 contributors to the site in attendance.
Sam is looking forward to talking with some of her favorite authors including Alexandra Christo and Seanan McGuire. She’s also looking forward to panels about writing and storytelling like Resist, Rebel, Rise Up: SF/F Writers and the Politics of Oppression, Fantasy Fiction: Beyond Maps, Beyond Borders, and even though she’s a Hufflepuff she’s planning to attend 10 Points to Slytherin: Why Good Fans Love Evil Characters. She’s hoping to pick up a few new books, and learn about new authors. You’ll probably find her belting out some tunes at the Hamilton Sing-Along Saturday afternoon!
As always the show is loaded from start to finish with way too much to see and not enough time to see it all….and a few interviews with some comic industry talent are also on our schedule.
Keep and eye on our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts during the show for live coverage, and check back the week after ECCC for a recap of everything!
