Who in the world would go from a very intense out of state convention, such as San Diego Comic-Con, into another out of state convention with just three days rest? Me. I’m the fool that can’t help herself.
With only three full days to myself once I’m home back in Seattle, I will be heading down to check out WasabiCon for the first time (it takes place in Portland,OR). As some of you may know, I love finding any excuse to go to a convention or to go to Portland (it is one of my favorite places to visit, it’s really just the food and vibes I love so much). So far, this will be the first of three cons I will be doing down in Portland. I am so excited to be checking out this convention, from what I’ve heard from friends. It’s a very relaxing and chill Asian pop culture (anime, video gaming, cosplay, and comics!) convention, and I can’t wait to meet up with old friends and make some more new ones there too!
WasabiCon takes place July 29th and 30th at the Hilton in downtown Portland, they will be having some amazing quests lined up! For voice actors they will be having Alex Organ (known for his voice as Loid (SpyXFamily), Ian Sinclair as Brook (One Piece), and Monica Rial (My Hero Academia and Dragon Ball series). There will also be a huge amount of special guests of the cosplay variety, a few of which are friends of mine who will be judges for the cosplay contest. I know I can’t wait to see everyone’s amazing cosplays at this anime con, and I know I will be cheering everyone on in the contest’s.
I’ve been following along on social media and checking out all the cool events that are lined up for this con, and I honestly can’t wait! I just saw that there will be a maid cafe, Itasha car show (never been to one of these before), cosplay lip sync battle, and a couple of really cool looking parties happening over the con weekend! I’m so excited to have a blast the weekend right after SDCC too!
