We are just a couple hours out from Kumoricon 2025! This is already going to be a very fun convention to end the year on for my books, as it starts on Halloween!
Cosplayers love to think outside the box and go all out, but adding in Halloween to the mix for a beloved convention? I am so stoked to see what everyone comes up with for a twist on their cosplay, and there will be lots of candy passed out. I already know that I will be passing out some goodies as I walk around Friday.
Social media has been filled with cosplay inspirations, meetups and work in progress for all the cosplayers attending the convention. It’s always super fun to see and many are getting into the ribbon making/trading for this convention as well. Everyone is excited to see the Halloween themed ones!
Kumoricon also partnered with WeTouchGrass to do an anime rave Halloween night too. WeTouchGrass has been pretty popular as of late, so have lots of other rave/parties centered around cosplay and anime music. They normally do a tour throughout the year in multiple cities throughout the US, now they are working more with conventions this year and adding more shows to their tours. They have already done a Portland show back in September, and now they will be doing an extra show during Kumoricon on Halloween. From what I have seen from the response to this is overwhelming excitement from convention goers for this con.
The other big excitement for this convention rave (it will be held at another location and not on convention property) is one of the DJ’s. Alex Kade is a staple of WeTouchGrass and has a huge fan gathering for his mixes of popular anime songs, people are losing it over his “Golden” remix from K-Pop Demon Hunters (I know I was). He is always the last DJ to perform and brings down the house when he does, and has announced that this event will be his last for the year.
With more and more news and updates coming from the Kumoricon team the closer we get to the convention, the excitement is just growing. At the time of this article we are currently still waiting for the finalized schedule for the convention, but we are waiting with baited breath to see it and talk about our favorites we can’t wait to see!
