Organizers marked their 21st year running MomoCon 2026, continuing to grow and attracting exciting guests like the cast of Critical Role, among many others. MomoCon specializes in Anime and Gaming guests, events, and attractions, but has a little something for everyone that calls themselves a little nerdy.
For this nerd, I found the most fun from a few panels – including a The Amazing Digital Circus Cast Q&A and a raucous Cartoon Smash or Pass panel – some time in the gaming hall playing board games for rental and checking out the huge range of vendors in the exhibitor’s hall. Fans of The Amazing Digital Circus were treated to unused lyrics from Caine’s song in episode 8, freestyled by Alex Rochon during their Cast Q&A at MomoCon 2026.
Horny on Main: Cartoon Smash or Pass Panel
One of the most fun things I got up to at MomoCon 2026 was one of the late night panels: Cartoon Smash or Pass. The energy in the room was explosive, and while I’m sure this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea… I’ll be making a point of going back for this every year from here on out.
Honored Guests: Cast of Critical Role
My big thing is TTRPGs, so you know having the cast of Critical Role at MomoCon 2026 was icing on the cake – I was going to go anyway! My partner and I joined a packed panel of Critters for a Q&A with the cast on Saturday morning. One highlight of the panel was a small tease indicating that a video game might be in the works, but details on campaign or setting it would be based in (and really any other details) were not disclosed.
Critical Role’s presence also incited quite the cosplay response, with cosplay meetups being held and massively attended on two different days. My partner had been working on a Vax’ildan cosplay and got to strike a pose with the many cosplaying Critters at the con.
Word to the Wise: Register Early for MomoCon 2027
Fans of anime, gaming, and all things nerdy pop culture that missed MomoCon 2026 – surely you can see what you’re missing. Register early for next year! You don’t wanna miss the party the next time the fun is back in town.
