SDCC 2019: In Conversation with Matt Hawkins (Top Cow Productions)

Continuing the posting of our coverage of this years San Diego Comic-Con, there were so many sights and sounds available to sink in, with our ‘boots on the ground’ checking out as much as they possibly could, as well as interviewing some really cool and interesting creatives, dotted around the show.

Our Senior US Correspondent Dan Berry took the chance to sit down and talk to the man behind Top Cow Productions, President / COO Matt Hawkins, to talk about a varied range of topics and styles that the company is putting out and that Matt himself is involved in, from his contribution to the Stjepan Sejic SUNSTONE series – the sex-positive adult romance book SWING – to his return to the ever-popular POSTAL universe, DELIVERANCE, teaming once again with artist Bryan Edward Hill.

Matt also gets into where he feels Top Cow could possibly be going in the wake of such diverse comic styles, as well as his thoughts on crowdfunding, the discovery of comics with audiences and what stories under the Top Cow banner we could see developed into other media. All-in-all, it’s a cracking conversation with a man who knows his business and his craft inside and out.
