Rose City Comic Con is this weekend! Once again, we are back at this fun Portland Convention Center and ready to get our nerdy on!
Fan favorites, Thirsty Waters is back with another anime boba shop, Demon Slayer, in honor of the new movie coming out September 12th. They have a great selection of drinks, and if you were able to attend Anime Expo a few months ago, you know just how good these drinks are! I have been dreaming of having another one of Shinobu’s drinks, but I will definitely be having multiple flavors this weekend!
There are also some amazing guests, Billie Piper, Christopher Eccleston (ahhhhh my Doctor!), David Harbour, Felicia Day, and so many more amazing celebrity guests. It’s always exciting when there are people from Doctor Who at conventions, they are always super nice when meeting them. There’s also a great line up of voice actor guests, May Hong for example. She’s the voice of Mira from K-Pop Demon Hunters, and I am so over the moon to meet her and get an autograph (I’m jumping around like a little kid all the time now just thinking of meeting her soon). There is also Erica Mendez, Cristina Vee, Robbie Daymond, and a whole bunch of others (sorry I can’t list them all, or this would be a never-ending article).
The programs happening this weekend also look super good, I’m excited to be showing my best friend around this convention (it’s her first Rose City). We are going to stop by a few cosplay meetups to see the amazing cosplayers and be checking out the Hunter X Hunter cast Spotlight. Cosplay Commandments looks pretty good as well, and on Saturday there is a K-Pop dance workshop I really want to check out. There’s also (shameless plug here) a panel I’m co-hosting, The Gojo Effect (which will be pretty fun, if I do say so myself) on Saturday.
In the end, I’m the most excited to check out the artists alley and all the merch. There have been some great new fandoms that have come up recently in popularity, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and I’m ready to do some shopping!
If you have some free time this weekend and want to do a road trip over to Rose City Comic Con, tickets are still available! This is one of the best conventions that happens yearly in Portland and is a total blast!
