It’s new comic book day but before I start telling you about the awesome new comics that are out this week, I Just wanted to take a few minutes to express my extreme gratitude to everyone who reached out to me while I was in the hospital and dealing with a flooded home, it was so thoughtful, thank you.
I am also extremely thankful for Dan and Leonard for putting up with me and allowing me to return at my own pace while I was healing and repairing my home. I honestly thought for a little while that I may not live through this one, it was a close call. It was because of the love, kindness, caring and support from you guys that I’m still here, among the living. The comic book/con fandom family is the best family one could ask for, thank you all.
LIVEWIRE #2
VALIANT COMICS
Written by VITA AYALA
Art by RAÚL ALLÉN, PATRICIA MARTÍN
Letters by SAIDA TEMOFONTE
Amanda McKee, a powerful superhuman with tele-technopathic abilities that gave her access to the digital world, she was once called a hero until she was betrayed by the government. Amanda, AKA Livewire, has now been branded a terrorist after she plunged the country into a power outage to save herself and others like her. With the people she called allies now her enemies she finds herself in the custody of mercenaries that have other plans for her and she finds out how one really feels about her.
My first thought on this book is WOW, why haven’t I been reading this before? Not only has Vita Ayala written an amazing and powerful story, but the art from Raúl Allén and Patricia Martín is downright gorgeous. I am ashamed to say that I am a latecomer to Valiant, I have read some of the stories that Valiant has published before, but I had not had any storylines that I was overly excited about, well not anymore. Vita Ayala is a masterful storyteller and I am so eager to see what happens to Livewire next. With this being only issue #2 it is a great place for a new reader to jump into this story without feeling lost or behind and I cannot wait to see where it leads to.
