Portsmouth Comic Con 2019: Spotlight On Liam Sharp (Saturday 4th May 2019)

Liam Sharp is one of comics true survivors: from a heyday as a comics artist on books like 2000AD, HULK, VENOM, SUPERMAN and SPAWN, and as the creator of revolutionary online comics portal Madefire, there was a period when he appeared to disappear from the industry, dismissed and ignored.

Now, in recent years, Liam’s stellar talent and determination is being once again recognised by publishers and pundits alike as he brings a classic style to books such as WONDER WOMAN, THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD and most recently THE GREEN LANTERN (with writer Grant Morrison), all for DC Comics – it truly is a renaissance for this incredible comics luminary.

At this years Portsmouth Comic Con, Comicon’s Olly MacNamee talked to Liam about his return to the spotlight, about what he feels he brings to the page, and how he sees his work alongside the books currently available on the stands. It’s a great talk, we hope you enjoy.
