This year at San Diego Comic-Con, we have a number of correspondents with ‘boots on the ground’, doing their best to take in as much of the sights and sounds of the show as possible, checking out a number of the panels and also interviewing some really cool and interesting creatives, dotted around the show.
One of these is our Senior US Correspondent Dan Berry and he has been fortunate to get the chance to speak to former music executive and now comics writer Jeff Rougvie, along with his layouts/inker Noelle Raemer, to talk about his book, GUNNING FOR HITS, published by Image Comics.

“Set in the shady New York City music scene of the mid-80s, GUNNING FOR HITS stars Martin Mills, a record company talent scout with an inscrutable past. Follow Martin as he attempts to sign a rock band that’ll conquer the world in this music business crime thriller written by music producer Jeff Rougvie (David Bowie, Big Star) with art by Moritat (The Spirit, Harley Quinn, Hellblazer).”
This is a super cool book – but super cool doesn’t ever come easy, especially if you haven’t ever written a comic before. In this conversation, Jeff and Noelle talk about the original inspiration for the book, how it was set up at Image (via publisher Eric Stephenson), what the team have planned for the book moving forward and also a bit of a dive into their thoughts on the mainstream comics landscape. A fun chat!

Thanks to Jeff and Noelle for taking the time to talk to us, and to Dan for setting up the interview. Enjoy!!
