Illumination (the same studio behind DESPICABLE ME, DR. SEUSS’ THE GRINCH, and more) today released a trailer for their upcoming THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2.
Just like the in the original movie (which made almost $900 million worldwire), the story will focus on what pets do when their owners leave for work each day.
The cast includes Kevin Hart, Eric Stonestreet, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, and Bobby Moynihan who are all returning for the sequel as well as newcomers Patton Oswalt, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll, Harrison Ford, and Pete Holmes.
The movie is set to be released on June 7th, 2019 in the United States.

The Secret Life of Pets 2 will follow summer 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy will produce the sequel to the comedy that had the best opening ever for an original film, animated or otherwise.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 will see the return of writer Brian Lynch (Minions) and once again be directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me series, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax).
