Fans of the animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks, are getting a chance to play out their red-shirt-crewmate dreams with the upcoming release of the Star Trek: Lower Decks Campaign Guide! Pre-orders just launched for this exciting expansion to the Star Trek Adventures series of books from Modiphius Entertainment.
The campaign guide adds a ton of new options to allow Star Trek tabletop gamers to expand or focus their gameplay for this fun setting, including a three-part mini-campaign, detailed information on the experience of junior officers in the Starfleet, and a wealth of advice for gamemasters running a lower decks-style campaign. The campaign guide also adds eight new playable species, game statistics for seven spaceframes and over 20 additional ships, and a complete system for creating your own creatures.
As someone who plays a lot of tabletop games, I’m personally excited for a campaign guide that looks like it won’t be taking itself too seriously, playing off the irreverent tone of the animated series. Tabletop gamers know how silly and unserious our home games can get, and a ruleset that embraces those themes sounds like it has a lot of potential for gut-busting fun.
