Thanks to ABLAZE Publishing for the review copy!

From critically acclaimed writer Michael Moreci comes a new wild and brutal action adventure series. Worlds are being destroyed and the only hope of saving what is left is a rag-tag group of barbarians that don’t have much in common. In fact, they don’t even really seem to like each other very much! Somehow they must stand together to save all of existence. Somehow. Maybe. Will their own egos and personalities get in the way?

I’ve been a fan of just about anything involving barbarians since Conan came out when I was a little kid. It’s pretty clear that Moreci is a big fan of these violent brutes as well. After reading his Barbaric title, which I absolutely loved, this was a no brainer for me. It has everything you want in an action adventure. Shape shifters, magic users, monsters, villains and obviously barbarians! What’s not to love??! Moreci makes quick work of pulling a team together that’s up against an near impossible task. He does a great job of fleshing out their personalities, strengths and weaknesses. It’s a very tightly weaved first issue that perfectly sets the tone for the rest of the series. The art and coloring is top notch as well! It’s vibrant, detailed and full of emotion. This is the style of art that lends perfectly to an action adventure like this. There’s enough swordplay, sorcery, and gore to soak the bloody pages. Especially once the team starts to work together! Both the action and dialogue swiftly move this first issue towards its climax with our group of barbarians sending the enemy packing with a message for its leader. “Tell him I’m coming and tell him I’m bringing a Gods damn legion with me!” says Kull, the leader of the barbarian who just happens to also be a king. If that doesn’t get you pumped up for the next issue I am not sure what does! Totally awesome stuff!

My rating 9/10 Awesome!
