As we are rushing towards summer and the next part of the convention season, the stress has been mounting. For me, it’s getting ready, working on cosplay, working on more articles, and the biggest thing I do whenever I am stressed out is read. I have no clue how I fit it into my schedule, but I end up reading massive amounts of novels, manga, fanfiction, and now titles on Webtoon. It seems like all I do is read Webtoon titles, it feels like I have an outright addiction to the stories on there and every time I think I’ve read everything in the genres I love-I find more.
Currently, I already have a list of on-going series I’m reading from. This past week I have found
Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story
My Villainous Family Won’t Let Me Be
Adopted by a Murderous Duke Family
and just re-read My In-Laws are Obsessed with Me so I catch up before the I start on the new season.
I am completely mad for these second chances at life stories, especially if they are for the villains. They are so much better than reading about your typical hero and villain stories, those can be boring after being told over and over again.
For the six series I’ve listed above, each and every one of them has a great plot that is engaging and great depth/development to each of the characters that the story focuses on. The only thing that bums me out about these series so far is none are completed yet, and I have to wait for the weekly episode update. I love when the episodes build up and I end up having a lot to read all at once, but the waiting just kills me!
The art is another thing I really love about these series too! Since I’ve caught up on all of these (and am trying my hardest not to think about them till the next episode update…), I have been going back to reread them from the beginning. I did this with “My In-Laws are Obsessed with Me“, I found myself falling in love with how the artist expresses so much of the characters’ emotions in just their eyes alone (gotta love that all the pages are in color!). It always makes me feel like I’m getting more insight to what a character is thinking and possibly a hint at what they may do next.
As you can tell already, I’m heavily invested in this app and these new series I just can’t get enough of. I’ve even gone as far as looking up the novel for some of these Webtoons, because I must have more to read. I’m even about to start reading the novels of “My In-Laws are Obsessed with Me” because I can’t stand to wait to find out what happens next! I just wish there was more and a novel for Adopted by a Murderous Duke Family, another great series that I can barely contain myself over.
If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend checking out the free app, Webtoons, to find some amazing new stories you’ve never heard of before. I just know you will have a blast reading through their series list and becoming obsessed with your new favorite thing to read!
