This is the new home for Leonard Sultana‘s stuff and nonsense of t’interwebs – formerly a simple vlog chronicling Leonard’s fledgling trips to San Diego Comic-Con (and, yes, named after that Sting record) and evolving to be a San Diego Comic-Con fansite, AN ENGLISHMAN IN SAN DIEGO quickly grew out of all control, becoming a popular website covering convention news from across the globe, along with whatever took his fancy.

That was all well and good, until Leonard started becoming more involved in conventions personally, becoming a panel host and podcaster, and having to explain to people he met and introduced himself to that, no, he wasn’t from San Diego, actually, as much as he would like to be. (Leonard’s from Yorkshire in the UK, just in-between Leeds and Bradford, by the way. Hardly as glamourous.)

Instead of feeling like a fraud and that the site had outgrown him, Leonard decided that it was time to reclaim the name for himself and develop a convention update site, independent of AEISD – hence the site you’re visiting now. But he still wanted to do stuff for himself, such as his weekly live YouTube show – TALKIN’ CON: A CUP O’ TEA… – some opinion posts, and other things, just for him. And this is where you will find them. Tidy, right?

TALKIN’ CON: A CUP O’ TEA WITH AN ENGLISHMAN IN SAN DIEGO is Leonard’s long-running video podcast, first starting a vlog, evolving into a San Diego Comic-Con news and updates channel and then – with regular contributors Alyssa Franks of the Friends Of Comic Con Forum and Mark Searby – a weekly convention news and discussion series. Always livestreamed, TALKIN’ CON… thrives on the interaction with its live audience.

Airing on Sundays at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, the show has, in recent years, become more of an interviews channel, with regular features to include any convention live reports, updates, opinion features, schedule breakdowns and more.
