Anime Catch-Up Time!

With the sunny weather and Summer fast approaching, we are entering a new season of anime! As we wait week by week for that one new episode of a fun, new popular anime we can’t get enough of, it might be time to look back. This is the perfect time to catch up on last seasons popular animes, and see what all the fuss is about for certain series.

I, myself am currently catching up on last season’s anime, since I was slammed with conventions and cosplay work. It has been so nice to just sit and relax lately, so many of these are very comforting anime to watch. Frieren: Beyond the Journey’s End was one of the biggest anime the last two seasons, and I completely understand. It took me by surprise how much I ended up loving the show, at first I was just watching to see what the big fuss was about (and to have something in the background). Recently, I set aside time and turned off my phone so I could catch up on the last few episodes and just enjoy myself. Afterwards I started working on a few cosplay ideas that I want to do from the show, sadly there are too many to choose from.

Delicious in Dungeon is another amazing one! I’ve been watching this every night before going to bed for the past couple weeks. It is so nice and fun, I do end up getting hungry and having strange dreams about food though…this is still currently coming out every week on Friday, I’m not sure how many episodes are left to come out. Though there are over ten (maybe there’s 15) episodes out currently, and it’s on Netflix. Mr. Villain’s Day off is another chill watch, and a new series that came out last season. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a villain so enamored by pandas (but really, they are so cute and I get it), and wanting any panda product. This is such a cute show with lots of fun antics between the characters on the side of “good” and “evil”.

The last two series I want to mention are Solo Leveling and The Apothecary Diaries both of which have beautiful animation, great story pacing, and are suspenseful. I have been a big fan of Solo Leveling for years! It has been one of my all time favorite series to read, and I was reading back when it was still being uploaded online. I’ve been rooting for so long for it to be made into an anime, and I think so far it’s turned out pretty good. I already want them to do another half to this season because 12 episodes just feels way too short. But, while we all wait impatiently for more to come out, I highly recommend checking out the manhwa (there are currently eight volumes published in the US, all in color), and all eight novels have also been published (the last novel finishing up the series just came out, it’s very good so far and I’m excited to see how the series ends in this format).

The other series, The Apothecary Diaries has a boat load of episodes out currently, along with 11 manga volumes to tide us all over until we get another season. I have always loved the “who done it” series, especially when it’s lots of them and not dragging on the same mystery for seasons on end. It’s also nice that the series has its own dash of romance between some pretty oddball characters.

Lots of choices to keep you occupied, while you wait for all these new anime episodes this season to come out. It’s also a great time to find something new to love, and to catch up on what was popular (and still is!) this time! I hope you all find something great to watch!
