“…and we’re back, after that short break from our sponsors!”
It’s only been a week away but, boy, it’s felt like longer, hasn’t it? So much has happened in the past fortnight that it’s going to be quite the effort to fit everything into this hour show… let’s see what we can do!
First up, we’ll be doing a recap of the epic event held at the ExCel Centre in the Capital’s Docklands as MCM London Comic Con disappears into the sunset. We have a couple of special guests on the show who are going to discuss the many changes that MCM and ReedPOP implemented on this convention, both of which are heavily invested in the show going well moving forward.
First up, we have Live Stage panel host C.J. The Geek who can talk to us about how MCM London Comic Con went down the other end of the venue, especially with the shift in focus away from the media guests. And then we have Emma Vieceli, an acclaimed comics talent and regular vendor in the Comic Village – how did she find the footfall and change in audience at the show? And did she and her compatriots make their money at what is considered a usually safe bet for retail? Big questions for a big event.
And then I’m sure Mark Searby will weigh in with his take on the show – he attended on the Saturday, easily the busiest day of the weekend – as well as joining Leonard in looking forward to next weekend’s SDCC Open Online Badge Registration: a stressful afternoon for those eager to get their grubby mitts on those all-important San Diego Comic-Con badges.
