We are a day away from the start of the last convention (for me hopefully) of the year, Kumoricon. This is the convention I have been hearing everyone talk about and being so excited over, I myself am one of them. I am over the moon to be attending with new friends and some exciting cosplay, as well as us all having big plans for while we are at con.
As I’m writing this, the official schedule has come out on the app and I am blazing through it to see all the cool events planned. I am so excited for the concerts with OR3O, Lollia, and NANO. I added this to my schedule of events that I must check out and there’s even a dance party later that same night with Crusher and Darkbluecat. This is the year for the convention late night events, lots of lip sync, 18+ panels, and many many more!
There is also the Kumori ball, with the Dungeons & Dragons theme. Of course many are taking their own twists on this theme and are combining anime and D&D, with formal thrown into the mix. Then there is the Cosplay Cabaret, I know quite a few of the cosplayers in this and can’t wait to cheer them on (I will lose my voice in how much I’ll be cheering them on). Oh! I also can not forget the late night Ghost Neko’s Paranormal Maid Cafe After Dark, which happens during the day as well…But I heard some fun things are for the 18+ that night, and I want to go and support a few of my friends working in the cafe as well.
For the first time at Kumoricon, I will be hosting two panels. I’m still surprised that both I applied for went through, but I can’t wait for all those who attend to talk with my panel co-host and I. That being said there are some fantastic panels lined up this year! I have my eye on almost all of the cosplay ones, It Has Pockets, Wigs, Anime Tattoos, and the big Bleach panel! The Bleach panel is going to be so cool, Johnny Young Bosch, Michelle Ruff, and Stephanie Sheh will be there talking about The Thousand-Year Blood War (the newest Bleach arc out currently).
At this point and time I’m just counting down until the fun starts on the night before Kumoricon, checking in, getting my cosplay, and plans ready for the weekend and having a nice chill night with friends. If you happen to be in the area or want to join in on the fun everyone will be having grab your ticket for Kumoricon now! It’s being held in Portland (Oregon, not Maine) at the Oregon Convention Center November 8th-10th.
