Let’s Party at Dragon Con!

We are just a few days from the biggest party of the year starting up for its weeklong event, that’s right…it’s time for Dragon Con 2024!!!

I still can’t believe it’s already been a year since I was last at Dragon Con, I feel like I blinked and it’s that time again. This is my second go around to this convention, and I feel better prepared walking into it this time. I know how the weather will be, what cute outfits and comfy shoes to bring along for all the walking (and dancing, so much dancing) between hotels. I didn’t get to spend as much time as I wanted to on cosplays for the convention this year, it’s been crazy with one to two conventions a month since the last Dragon Con (and of course life). I am happy with the fun (weather appropriate) cosplay I’m bringing along.

Besides all that, I have so many plans! I am dying to get a photo with Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) from Doctor Who, I need it for my collection (and she is my favorite companion). I also really want to be awake for some of the daytime stuff at con, not just early evening into four am. Although I fully intend to sleep right after picking up my badge after getting in on Thursday (since my flight to get in is at 6am), that way I can be all rested up for the Bunny Hutch that night! Ever since hearing about this part of the convention and seeing it in person last year, this probably has to be one of my favorite events at a convention ever! I’m currently putting the final touches on the two bunny suits I’ve been working on, one of which is a last minute one because of a certain movie and character I am absolutely in love with (so let’s hope the cosplay turns out looking good!).

I’ve also just gotten a chance to take a peek at the schedule and am only now making my way through Saturday’s schedule, there is so much to see and do! I’ve marked quite a bit that I want to stop in and see the panels, there are a few sewing ones that are classes (I really want to do those ones!) There are also quite a few discussion ones I really want to sit in on, such as Naruto/Boruto. I will also have so much to say on the ways these two series are different and which is the better one (Naruto will always be better), and there’s one one anime husbandos (ranked).

There’s also a parade! Oh the parade! How could I forget, but I unfortunately slept through when the parade happened last year. Fingers crossed that this year I’ll be able to catch it and see all those Spartans people talked about last year as well (I heard they look pretty cool!). Along with the parade there’s all the amazing cosplay, I felt like last year was very eye opening to me. I have never seen such detailed and fun cosplays at a convention before. Yes, there are always amazing cosplays at every convention I go to, but I think for Dragon Con it’s a whole different level. These are all the year long projects from everyone attending (or a week long project), that are the absolute fun ones (everyone is so inventive with their cosplays). I love showing people the photo album I have from last year with all the very cool and fun cosplays I saw!

Again, my main goal at this convention isn’t just to party my butt off, but to get enough sleep to actually enjoy and see more of the convention this year, because there’s just too many panels not to want to go to! Anyway, I’m excited to join in on the partying happening at Dragon Con while also learning some new things at the panels and just people watching to see all the cosplays!

If you are in Atlanta anytime from August 29-September 2nd, grab a ticket and stop in for a while to see and join in on all the fun!
