Nothing. I mean nothing could have prepared me for the reality of Dragon Con. I was told many times by my friends who had gone before, how much of a party con this was. The fool I was, just took all that talk with a grain of salt (also because I was still recovering from my concussion and all the stress).
Now here we are, a couple weeks since Dragon Con ended. Non-stop parties every single night among the multiple hotels hosting the convention, along with the parties for the multiple events and private parties people had too.
I ended up not making it to a single panel at all during this con, normally I try to at the very least make it to one (if not more). But, because I was so busy leading up to the convention itself. I was unable to view the schedule and plan out what I wanted to check out, I was also with a group of friends (who wanted to make sure I was safe and sticking to them like glue, since I was the baby of the group).
Since my group was traveling into the future (three hours), we were having a hard time adjusting to the new time zone and a new sleep schedule. We had slow mornings for the first three days, and of course not leaving any of the parties till 3am. It wasn’t till the last few days that we started early on in the day to do photo shoots, lunches, and the Villain Vogue Fashion Show (held on the last day, and will now be Visions Vogue Fashion Show).
We even took a couple of hours to go through the merch and art building, which we ended up spending our last day back in. It was less busy that day, and we were able to take our time on the floors and in the booths we wanted to spend money at. And yes, I did say floors. There were three floors of merch and the fourth floor was the artist alley (which I have news about too, for another follow up article). I didn’t end up buying much, only something for my friend and a few cosplay things (one of my favorite wig companies was there, Arda Wigs, and they had a sale bin and lots of their back ordered wigs in stock there. I picked up three new wigs for future cosplays).
There is still so much to talk about that happened at this con, and I haven’t even talked about the amazing cosplay I saw there!!!! I guess this just means you all have to keep an eye out for my follow up articles on it and the wild parties I was able to get into at this all out con, let’s just say you won’t want to miss hearing about the famous and well known Bunny Hutch one I attend…
