This past Saturday at the Pasadena Convention Center (which seems to be a popular convention center for pop culture events) hosted Nerd Expo.
The one day convention was put on by NerdBot, and included such notable guests as Ray Park, Peter Cullen, Alan Oppenheimer, Shannyn Sossamon, Matty Cardarople, and more.
As with any convention, the special guests are one thing but a good convention needs good panels, and this show had a few interesting ones including Reverse Flash: Origins Fan Series Panel (which if you haven’t seen, you can watch for free on YouTube here), a Roll Out with Transformers Toys, Featuring Toy Wizards Loryn Stone and Scott Zillner, and a few panels on cosplay.
The show floor itself was packed with vendors selling many types of nerdy items including comics, action figures, toys, and other items. For those who wanted to get off the exhibit floor Geek & Sundry sponsored a table top game room, there was also a Nerd Karaoke set up for attendees to show off their singing (or lack their of?) chops, and a room set up for those who wanted to play some video games.
In addition to the panels I sat in on, the performance by RagnaRock (with a special appearance by one of the best Loki cosplayers there is in Loki Hates You) on the main stage in the exhibit hall was also one of the highlights for me.
All in all for a one day show, this was a fun one and one I will attend in 2020 as well!
