A brand new con debuts this weekend, Anime Washington, and I am so excited to be at a convention in its first year! It will be very exciting to be adding another brand new con to my lineup this year, and I always love going to anime conventions. It is taking place right before I head off to MegaCon in Orlando, but I am so happy that it’s taking place so close to where I live (and on a weekend too!). Many voice actors, artists, and friends will be attending and it just makes me all the happier to see people again so soon!
There will be 34, YES 34! Voice actors in attendance from some of the biggest anime out there. Sailor Moon, Naruto, Dr. Stone, Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, One Piece, Demon Slayer, HunterXHunter, and so many more! I am freaking out a bit from this list because my OTP (one true pairing) will be there. These were the first two characters I EVER SHIPPED (when you want two people/characters in a relationship). The voice actors of Sakura and Sasuke from Naruto (I was right by the way and they ended up MARRIED, in the series). Anyway, as you can already tell I am dying to meet them and get their autographs. I also see that there will be many more Naruto guest voice actors and depending on their prices I will try to get as many as I can because it was my first ever anime series that I still love to this day.
There will also be a whole host of One Piece voice actors there as well, including the one who voices Perona (a personal favorite of mine). The panel schedule also looks very easy to hit up the ones I would really like to see, such as “Intro into competitive cosplay”. That’s the only panel that jumps out to me, since the rest are mostly anime series names (not sure if that’s a meet up or discussion on the series). I’m also hyped for the tabletop gaming that will be happening, because I haven’t gotten to play a lot of the One Piece game or Magic the Gathering lately and would love to try it out at a convention. There’s also going to be video gaming there and I hope I can sit in and play a few rounds in some game, since that is a big to do on my list of things to get into this year.
Lastly, there will be an After Party being hosted at the Hotel Murano Ballroom (you will need a separate ticket for this party). I’ve only been to a few convention after parties, but never an anime one. It looks like some fun, and I know I will see some great cosplay dancing around (won’t want to miss that!). Although, you will need a pass to one or both days to the convention itself, along with a ticket to the party to get into the event, which completely makes sense to keep con-goers safe from outside harm, and keep the fun times rolling.
There’s still time to grab your own tickets for the two day anime convention being held in Tacoma at the Tacoma Convention Center on January 27th & 28th. Grab your tickets here https://animewashington.com/admission-tickets/
You can also still grab tickets to the After Party being held on Saturday night, January 27th (you will need a convention pass also to get into this event). Grab your tickets here for the party https://anime-washington.yapsody.com/event/index/799421/anime-washington-after-party
