ALL EIGHT EYES #3 REVIEW – Solid spider killing action! (Foxe, Kowalski, Simpson, Otsmane-Elhaou) Dark Horse Comics

Writer: Steve Foxe
Artist: Piotr Kowalski
Colorist: Brad Simpson
Letterer: Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
Digital Art Technician: Adam Pruett
Designer: Skyler Weissenfluh
Editor: Daniel Chabon
Assistant Editors: Chuck Howitt-Lease and Misha Gehr

Thanks to Dark Horse Comics for the review copy!

Our story about giant killer spiders in the city continues in this penultimate issue! Reynolds becomes a little rattled and Vin must step in for a sanity check. Vin almost gets himself killed in a reckless attempt to destroy a monster-sized arachnid. The two, barely surviving, end up in an argument which leads to a brutally honest backstory on Reynolds and how he tragically ended up on the streets. Are they finally on the same page as they decide to seek out and destroy the mother of all spiders.

This was a great issue leading into the finale! Not only did it provide us with some solid spider killing action but it also gave us a little backstory on Reynolds which allows for us to be more connected to both the characters and the story. It was a nice little change of pace from what has been mostly monster mayhem. Not that the action isn’t great but Foxe has now shown us there is more to this book than just the bite with this issue. I would have loved to see this pushed out to maybe 5 issues but it’s great nonetheless. Kowalski continues to shine with the art as well. His style couldn’t be more perfect for this type of book and his lines and details are second to none. These spiders are wild and creepy! The emotion, the action, the dialogue. It all hits! Everything about this book just feels right and I’ll be sad to see it end with issue #4.

My rating –  9/10 Excellent!
