PROMETHEUS IN CHAINS #2 review – A weighty and emotionally demanding second issue (Davis, DiRenzo, Zief, Lentz, Garner) Red 5 Comics

Writer: Rich Davis
Penciler: Jordan DiRenzo
Colorist: Alex Zief
Letterer: Dave Lentz
Cover Artist: Les Lindon Garner

Thanks to Rich Davis for the review copy!

The next chapter of our Frankenstein story finds our delicate scientist and widowed husband continuing his plan to bring his wife back from the dead. Continuing to isolate himself from the real world Victor struggles with his own humanity. Continuing in solitude he plunges further into darkness, denouncing and challenging god himself.

Wowza! This is one weighty and emotionally demanding second issue! Davis continues to plunge us further into the mind and madness of Victor as he flashes in and out of tortured memories, living nightmares, and delusional paranoia. The emotional toll on Victor alone is a sight to behold as it’s masterfully written and drawn. DiRenzo continues to shine in the art department as does Zief with the colors as the book is just gorgeous to look at. You can’t help but be pulled right into the story and mental psyche of Victor. It’s dizzying and yet captivating how well this story works and continues to pull the reader in. Once Victor has finally accomplished the unthinkable there is just no telling what will come next. We know that it’s probably nothing good! In the end, it’s likely the monster he has created might be more alive than he is. I look forward to the next issue but thus far this has been a true delight and a nightmare to read!

My rating 10/10 – Superb!

Prometheus in Chains #2 is set to be released on July 12th.
