Thanks to Dark Horse for providing a copy for review.
There was not much to Crone issue one, we get brief moments of dialogue between characters and very few pieces of information to put together.
The story revolves around a woman warrior named Bloody Bliss. As the story starts off we find her and her two commands in the midst of battle with smiles on their faces as they are winning and have Bliss on their side.
The comic then shifts to many many years later, as an old man and his daughter are climbing a snow-covered mountain to find an old woman. Not even a bear attack could stop them as they are saved by the old crone they were looking for, not just any old woman but Bloody Bliss.
It’s not long before we are able to put the pieces together and deduct that the old man is one of the warrious from the battle we first saw. He and his daughter beg Bliss to help them to defeat an old enemy of Bliss’, one who was thought killed by Bloody Bliss’ own hands years ago.
Other then Bliss being shocked that this enemy could still be alive, we’ll have to keep reading to find out if she decides to keep her long ago oath of stopping this enemy.
Other than the alright art work, and story plot. I would like to read more of why Bloody Bliss doesn’t fight anymore (other than her age), and why she seems to tempt death at every turn. Because Bloody Bliss seems so sad every time that death doesn’t strike her down and I want to know why.
Crone #1 will be released on November 06, 2019.
